Orthodox Black Tea is a type of black tea produced using the traditional processing method known as the “Orthodox Method.” This classic processing technique results in dark brown tea leaves, a brewed liquor with a bright reddish-brown color, golden rim, rich texture, and a mild astringent taste.
Orange Pekoe (OP)
Our Black tea Orange Pekoe is used to identify a large leaf size like OPA & Pekoe. The tea is characterized by long, thin, wiry leaves which sometimes contain the white or yellow tips of the leaf bud. It has a strong scent and a smooth flavor with a sweet finish.
Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP)
BOP is a popular leave size and the main broken grades. Black Tea BOP consists of small broken leaves without any other particles. The tea leaves also consist of a few silvery tips. This tea has a very strong taste in comparison with other grades.
Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe (FBOP)
Our Black tea FBOP is almost similar to Black tea BOP but smaller in size. This tea has short, slightly wiry, less twisted broken leaves and a small portion of tips that produce a mild yet flavorful brew.
Orange Pekoe A (OPA)
Our Black tea OPA is a fine grade of tea which consists of slightly larger leaves, compared to other Orange Pekoe varieties like OP and OP1. The tea has the boldest, largest size leaves in appearance and a unique taste compared to other smaller grades.
Pekoe Souchong (PS)
PS is a flaky leaf grade with a neat appearance. The tea consists of leaves that are slightly curly but fully open.
Broken Pekoe Souchong (BPS)
BPS is a flaky leaf grade similar to Black Tea PS but smaller in size. The tea consists of leaves that are slightly curly but fully open.
Fannings (F)
Fannings is a popular broken leave size which is often used in producing filter tea bags. It is the smallest pieces of tea that are left over after sieving other bigger leaf grades but still has a coarse texture
DUST
Dust is fine powder tea which is the smallest of particles that infuse quickly, resulting in optimal strength, color & body. Similar to our Black tea Fannings, Black tea Dust is popularly used in producing filter tea bags.
